Snoring/Sleep Apnea Solutions

Often, patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea are prescribed a CPAP machine. At night, patients are expected to wear a mask over their nose and mouth, which connects via a plastic hose to a machine that pumps a continuous flow of air, ensuring unencumbered breathing. While CPAP machines can help, they are so uncomfortable and cumbersome that patients often abandon treatment.

Fortunately, Houston Sleep Solutions can offer patients access to a unique and advanced solution: the MicrO2™ Sleep and Snore Device. You can enjoy uninterrupted breathing without relaying on a noisy machine and an uncomfortable mask.

What is MicrO2™ Sleep and Snore Device?

The sleep and snore device is a custom-made oral appliance worn during sleep. The appliance will look and fit similarly to a nightguard, and is designed to fit comfortably as it moves the  jaw forward sufficiently to prevent the collapse of soft tissue and ensure uninterrupted breathing.

What makes the device different from other oral appliances? The device is created using a control-cured dental grade polymethylmethacrylate material. The material is very strong, which allows the device to be smaller than many other appliances, offering a more comfortable fit. In addition, the device can be created using the CAD/CAM process, which makes replacing a lost or damaged appliance much easier.

The Benefits of a Wearing a Sleep Apnea Appliance

If you already have a CPAP machine, switching to an oral appliance offers a number of benefits, including:

  • Reduced noise
  • No mask, which means you can sleep in any position you choose
  • No forced air into your mouth and nose
  • A cozier fit
  • Treatment for snoring, as well as sleep apnea
